Drivers side armrest......

Has anyone found these? My Ex has medium parchment and of course the vinyl armrest is cracked from my wife driving it and always having her elbow on it on the phone. Can you switch driver and pass side? and how do they come off?!

Pull the cover off from the rear (where it hinges) to expose the Allen bolt that holds it on. Not sure if it is swapable as there may be a seam running down the bottom edge.

Sorry to Hi-Jack this thread but does this mean that it might be possible to "add" outside armrests on either the drivers or pass side buckets? Or that you can just switch the drivers and pass side arm rests interchangeably?

Thanks,
Michael

I wonder if we can just bolt on a bigger armrest? Mine seems a bit on the small side to me for some reason. What did the expedition or navigator armrests look like?

Outside, as in next to the door? If so, why?

The armrests may be interchangeable. I cannot recall exactly as my 05 Excursion is a 9-passenger. I used to always take the armrests off my 2000 Excursion for long trips as I had a custom console that I built to fit in that space which necessitated that I remove the armrests. For some reason as I write this I'm beginnign to think that they are not interchagneabel due to the stop built in to each arm rest that limits its downward movement and keeps it level to the seat. ....hmmmm....

Yes, on the outside of either seat (next to the door).

We had them on our older Suburban and I really liked them. It is the 1 thing that I wouldn't mind adding that I prefered on our old Sub.

I thought about a local upholsterer, may try that, I think Ford wanted like $79 for it!

if you are talking about the inner armrests, all you have to do is remove the cover off of the foam pad by starting where it hinges, there is an elastic band and all you have to do is pry over foam and slide off, then put your driver side cover onto your passenger and passenger onto drivers. basically all it does is flip the leather so the bottom side is up and hide the cracked portion on the bottom. very easy to do.

Sorry to bring this up from the dead, but I now have this issue. Would this be covered under the ESP warranty? I have the highest level warranty, forgot what its called. What about the foam on the bottom part of the dirvers seat? I'm a big guy at about 250 lbs but it seems soft and the plastic is rubbing the lumbar adjuster **** and its gouging the plastic. Seems I may need new foam? I wanna get a list together for a trip in for warranty.

Available at The Seat Shop

I recently replaced my driver side armrest cover on my 2000 Excursion. Replacement in Tan Parchment cost $45 from the Seat Shop. The armrest cover comes off and goes on like a sock. Simply find the mouth of the sock near the armrest swivel and pull it off. No bolts to remove.

I tried the reversing trick with the old ones first but it did not look right. The replacement is a perfect match.

You can purchase a new armrest cover through a Ford dealer.

I don't think they are that expensive either.

Maybe Ed, the FTE Parts Guy, ( partsguyed.com ) can chime in here. He had a pretty good price on the entire front seat cover replacement for me recently.

Hummm, some part #'s and prices from him may just get him a sale from me. I'm getting paid out on my vacation time I'm not using so I'll have some $ to burn soon.
