Choices Choices... Too Many Tire Choices

Well not surprisingly, it's almost that time again. I bought my Interco STS A/Ts about 8 months ago, and I'm about down to 50%. Not the greatest tire in the world if you do a lot of driving... too soft of a compound.

So I've begun my search again for some new rubber. This time I'm eyeing 2 different tires and I'm not sure which one I want. So I'm going to see if anyone has tried them out yet.

Nitto Terra Grapplers

or

Nitto Dune Grapplers

My choices are a little limited since I prefer to have an E load range.

I don't care much for Nitto's... only time I've ever been stuck in mud with something other than stock tires was with Nitto's. Been using BFG for years and haven't looked back!

Ah ha... finally feedback besides the "choose something else" option.

I love BFGs as well. That's usually what I go for on my cars. I'm not to worried about being stuck. The only time my F-250 sees anything but pavement is when we go camping. And even stock tires can go where I usually take it.

Terra Grapplers man. Pulled a horse trailer with these on a chebby(mud and pavement), and they outlasted the shocks put on at the same time. BFG makes awesome tires, I actually like the Rugged Trails on the SD, but I can't wait until I can get 33 Terra's on it. I talked to a guy today when I was getting a tire patched (torx puncture, it sucked) and he actually mentioned getting Nittos when I said I was looking at the 33 inch size. They only carried BGF and Goodyear in stock, and all the K/Os were D range and he said he personally didn't like the Silent Armor for some random reason. But if you're looking at all highway almost... Nitto makes some new highway grappler. I don't know any specs about, it. And BFG makes good highway tires too. I would personally stay away from Dunes if it was all highway driving, I have doubts on the wet traction of that tread pattern. Terras hold up well, do aight in snow and wet, and are my next choice for my truck. (... in 30K miles)

side note... BFG does make a stock size AT and MT tire in E range, but for some reason it is "not rated for severe snow". Maybe because of less sidewall flex than the D tire?

I also liked the BFG AT's fairly well, but I haven't had the Terras. They're a sweet looker for sure. I have only known a couple of people with them but havent heard any complaints.
I dont know that I'd worry about the "hard compound" thing too much. Mine now are H rated, and they're darn hard, and they did just swell in the snow and ice last winter.

I've got the TerraGrapplers and love them. I have about 30-35,000 miles on mine and expect about another 10-15,000 out of them. Been rotating them every 5,000 miles and run around 40psi in them. Mine are D rated but that was the highest I could get with 37x14x18. When these wear out I'm leaning towards the Mud Grapplers for that more aggessive look. But also looking at the TrXus STS All Terrain Super Swamper Tires. I love the look of them and my truck is on the road most of the time, the rest of the time we go to the coast and play in the dunes. But the Nitto have been good to me.

Well problem is I cannot get the stock size anymore. I'm running a 16x10 rim.

So now I'm limited to either a 35x12.5 R 16 or 315/75/R16

Sure, you can get F, G or even H rated tires. Just step up to a 19.5 inch rim.

Well after doing some more searching and researching. I think I"m going to go with BFG. I can get them pretty cheap through Sam's CLub, and have a hazard warranty. Which is alot more than I can say with my current Truxus.

Thanks for all the feedback.
