Maintenance Question

My 00 V10 F250 just turned 30,000 miles. Besides getting the transmission serviced is there anything else you guys recommend?

Replace all fluids - power steering, front diff & transfer case (if 4wd), rear diff, radiator, brake.

I think this is the first time I've seen a 2000 model with just 30K on it. I would think there could be a lot of condensation that's gathered over the years.

Have you checked torque on the plugs; checked the boots on the coils?

What Big Orn said.

Don't forget to change the fuel filter.

I've been changing mine ever 10k miles.

Once you have the tool it only costs $12 per change. (Napa Gold filter)

Wow, 30,000 miles on an '00! She's barely broken in!

My '06 already has 34,200 miles on the clock, and it's no daily driver. Guess that's what I pay for living so far from work! She does do the long distance towing/hauling etc though.
Enjoy,

I would probabily change the plugs and COP boots. Age is not a good thing for the boots.

Good advice above. I wouldn't change the COP boots unless they needed it though. The boots on my '00 were still pliable and in good shape when I changed the plugs several months ago. Use a dab of never-seize on the threads and a dab of dielectric grease in the boots.

Any Auto parts store sells them. Lisle makes a good one. It is a filter removal tool.

A/C/Fuel Line Quick Disconnect tool.

I got mine at Napa, which was a mistake at $20. (Cast Pot Metal)

You can get nice little aluminum tools from Advanced or Autozone for $10-$12.

The last time I changed the Fuel Filter on my truck I dumped the fuel in the filter out the inlet of the filter. To my surprise the gas that came out was pretty dirty. That filter was only in for 10k miles. The filter catches a lot of crap.
