Hi all,
I know I've asked this before but I'm either not getting it right or my clutch is history. I have a '62 unibody 223 w t-86 3 spd OD on the tree. If I move the adjusting nut towards the front of the truck does it loosen or tighten the clutch?
If you move the nut towards the front of the truck it will tighten the clutch itself, meaning that you will have to push the clutch futher in to disengage it. If you move it too far foward you will not be able to disengage it at all.
Thanks for the quick response 64STYLE. My clutch doesn't engage at all but I can faintly hear the disc slipping between pressure plate and flywheel. Adjustment nut is almost all the way back to the end of the threaded rod. I'll turn it back the other way and inch and a half or so and hopefully it will engage. Thanks again for the info.

As original, the threaded end of the adjustment rod had a conical headed spacer. It just slipped over the end of the rod. This spacer prevented the end of the rod from eating through the fork.
