Thanks for the comments. I'm not sure what exactly to call the body on it. It apparently was a line truck, used for work on electrical lines. The body is all aluminum. It has multiple storage areas or tool boxes on the outside. Also has a space to slide in all the pieces of the boom--there are nine pieces of large diameter tube that make up the boom, each about 8-10 ft long with two shorter ones. The door on the passenger side of the body is for an extra passenger/personnel area, which just has a bench seat with storage underneath. So in a way the body made it somewhat of a crew cab. It also has a big winch in the body, for operating the boom and for pulling cable.
In terms of condition, there are some rust through spots on the front fenders, but most sheet metal is decent. The cab seems to be pretty good with just surface rust. What is reallly nice is that the truck appears to be 99% complete--all the badges and small bits seem to be there.
Are you planning on leaving that bed on there? Great find and good luck.

Thanks guys,
I'm not absolutely sure on plans for the bed/body. I would like to keep it original, because this truck is complete and interesting. I also would like something that I can use at least occasionally--that's what trucks are for--and I wonder if I can use this for anything (although, we actually have a power pole or two that need replacing, and maybe I could install a power pole (might be unrealistic).
I plan first to get the truck running. That will take some time. Then think more about restoring the cab/fenders, and what to do with the body. But, basically leaning toward keeping it original if that is reasonable.
Nice M-H ---looks like a great find---I found a 56 f700 big job M-H --but will take some doing to get her home---I am excited and cannot wait-though. You must be excited also!!! kEEP IT ORIGINAL and she will be like no other!!! Bill
I think I would make a Camper out of her. She would get ya into some pretty rough places. Tow an ATV trailer or put a bike across the back. Be a Sweet hunting rig.

Yeah, a camper has come to mind. My first preference is to keep iit original and use it for something.
