We just got a 51 pickup and it of course has rust here and there. All 4 fenders need work, and some other usuall places. Where is a good place to get repair pieces for them? I origanaly wanted to just go ahead and buy 4 fenders, but the first few places I looked, I was shocked at the prices. That made me kind of think maybe instead of replacing the entire fenders, I could just get lower weld-in patch pieces. Is there even such a thing? The cab corners on this truck are actually ok, a big surprise. So, any ideas on good places to look? I am no stranger to welding, bodywork, and stuff like that, I have restored a few old cars that were pretty crusty.
I found a great place to get quality repair panels in Michigan. Called : NORTHERN CLASSIC TRUCKS INC. www.northernclassictrucks.com Small place , Nice people. I have been to the shop and they make great fitting peices, they have tailgates complete beds, everything ect, ect. Good Luck on your 51.

If you are handy with sheet metal I would advise you to make your own panels. There are patch panels available through other suppliers, but we found the quality of the panels were poor and did not fit very well and were over priced. With the cost of the repair panels and the labor and materials involved, you may want to reconsider replacement fiberglass fenders. The quality of the fenders are good and they fit very well. We have fenders available if you would like to look at our website. -Rod
