Having problem with my ECT for my 2000 2x4 4.6l triton
I have a 2000 f-150 2x4 the engine is a 97' 4.6L V-8 triton engine. everything matched up just fine. (oil pan, valve covers, waterpump intake and exhaust manifolds) the problem i am having is on the 2000 ECT sensor. I assume it must be located by the thermostate because the wire harness is short and limited in reach. I don't know where the ECT is located on the 97' engine. so as of right now the sesor is not screwed in and is just resting in the valley. I need to know where and how to install a ECT sensor from a 2000' to a 97' engine. The truck runs great I just have no temp. reading in the cab, and the check engine light is on, the code is related to the temp reading or lack there of.
