3.73? I've seen a lot of these trucks with the LSD have problems with burnouts. A little disapointing for 385ft.lbs. of torque stock, but it looks like you have the suregrip. Makes me feel better about my 4.2. I could just fry the stock tires, and even though it isn't LSD it would burn them equally. Now with 3.55's and the toyo proxes s/t tires it sticks like glue. 75% of the people on Youtube are A$$H@!ES, one of them already commented your video.
that's fine...they can do it all they want. I'm not some stupid 16 year old driving daddies truck. I paid for my truck and I want it to last for a long time. That's why the 3 brakestands I've done is the limit.
Wait until I buy tires for my Mustang. I've got to "use" the old ones up...maybe I can get one of those huge smoke clouds all those idiots are after.
I wonder if the ABS, throttle by wire, and refined front/back brake ratio all consipire to make a burnout less likely / less spectacular than the hp & tq numbers would suggest?
not really, if you're willing to keep the gas down, you can do one heck of a wicked burnout...it just depends on how much you hate your truck. I'm not comfortable with mashing the brakes hard, so I kept creeping forward.
also, unlike alot of people, I did mine on dry asphalt...try it on concrete, or better yet, wet concrete with a little bleach...you can create your own weather cell
never seen flames, but the bleach makes the rubber brake down a little and makes it easier to produce smoke...so you only do it on tires you never intend to drive on again
maybe ill try that this fall when i get new tires. i know i wont make it through another snow season with the stockers, so might as well have fun with them.
the 20-85 time was okay, and it was alot quicker than those "car" sites that go out and review vehicles. I beleive the 0-60 time is ~9 seconds according to most of those testers. Granted I was at a roll, but I find it hard to believe 9 seconds to get 0-60. more like 7 seconds
I may have to go and get me a stopwatch
just be careful with that bleach. after you have your fun, make sure to rinse the body off and/or wash/wax the truck. that stuff can do a number on the finish if allowed to sit there
