I Just Got A 07 F150 . I Got The V6. I Know I Know V6 But It Was In My Budget So That What I Got Lol. Do These Trucks Respond Well To Mods Or Are You Just Really Waisting Money To Get More Power.??
I Used To Have An 04 Mustang But Traded It For This Cause I Need A Work Truck. I Did Alot Of Moding To The Mustang With Out No Real Big Results.
Id Like To Know What You Guys Think ? Should I Leave It Alone. Or Is There A Few Small Things I Could So To Help Her Kick A Lil Harder.
These trucks should be modded. If for no other reason than to make me feel better about the ridiculous amount of $$$$ I've spend modding mine since I got it two months ago.
They do respond to add-ons such as intake, exhaust and tuner. Your not going to break any records but you will feel the difference. And lets face it, women have no interest in guys without heavily modded trucks. I know when they get together for lingerie parties they make fun of guys with stock trucks during the pillow fight breaks. It's true.
Congratulations on the new truck!!!! V6 or V8 doesn't matter, if you like it that is all that matters! All I can say is WE NEED PICS!!!! Maybe even some of the Lingerie party or the pillow fight, I'm not picky.
Lol Thanks For The Comments. I Had An Extra K&n Air Filter Sitting In My Attic From My Mustang. Looked Up The Part Number And They Are The Same Filter. So That Saved Me $40. And I Coundnt Happen To Notice How Big The Muffler Was On The Exhaust. Must Have Alot Of Restriction.?
Whats Good To To Do For Exhaust On The V6? Ive Heard That Its Good To Stay With Sigle Exhaust On A V6? I Had Magnaflows On My Mustang And Was Very Happy.
Im Getting The Moding Itch And Its Getting Scary Lol.
I'd leave it alone if you want to get many miles of dependable service out of it. It is what it is. My 2007 V6 has a 5-speed and I like it fine just like it is. I imagine it's a little sluggish with an auto. If you have to mess with it, you may as well wait until the warranty is up. This will give you time to learn to like it as-is and enjoy the better mileage you get with the stock engine. Talk about a stone; before I started looking at low-priced full-size trucks, I was considering a 4-cyl./auto Colorado - until I drove it. That thing wouldn't get out of it's own way! The big Ford runs rings around it and I got it 'out the door' for thousands less than the starting price of the Chevy.
I probably am one of the few here that doesn't care much about heavy mods. Mods will not add value to the truck, especially in insurance's eyes and/or dealers (during trade-in time) too. It's a waste of money unless it helps with fuel economy such as K&N filter, slightly mods wouldn't hurt your wallet. Money is better spend on elsewhere that would retain or increase in value (home improvements, etc), or even spend little more for V8 with nicer trim as it retains value better than buying lower end trim and spend heavy mods on it. Just my .02 worth.
Thanks For All Your Comments. I Really Like The Truck And The Power Is Very Nice For A V6. I Put The K&n In Today That I Had From My Mustang So Thers A Free Mod. If You Consider That A Mod Lol.
Will A 4.6 Magnaflow Catback Work On My 4.2? Man I Wish I Could Hear What It Would Sound Like.... I Know It Sounded Sweet On My Mustang But The V6s Are Hard To Get A Decent Growl.
