Install OEM Keyless and Advancetrac on 2003 Windstar
I just bought a 2003 Windstar with power windows and locks, no trim-level badge, no door RKE pad and untinted windows, so I suspect it is LX. It does have ABS but not traction control nor Advancetrac.
I have programmed over a dozen Ford remotes with the ignition on, ignition off trick, but my van will not go into keyless programming mode. No matter what I do, the locks will NOT cycle. I have two remotes I want to program, but cannot get the van into programming mode. Even though the owner's manual does not hint that it might happen, is it possible that my van does not have the RKE receiver installed?
Assuming it's missing the RKE receiver, how hard is it to add the receiver behind the center console? In all honesty, I haven't torn apart the trim to see what's back there. Is the wiring harness already installed? Is it a simple matter of finding a module at a salvage yard and plugging it in?
Since the vehicle has ABS, I suspect all of the sensors/actuators are in place to have TCS (save for the missing TCS-kill switch on the console). How tough is it to add TCS to this vehicle?
Ideally, I would like to have Advancetrac installed since this is the vehicle that my family rolls in -- I want safety. I would assume that a yaw sensor would (at the minimum) need to be installed to get Advancetrac.
In short:
A. How do I install OEM keyless entry if it does not have it already?
B. How do I install TCS?
C. How do I install Advancetrac?
Many thanks in advance!
Sincerely,
Marty
