Well I decided I am going to start saving for some rims and spinners for my X. I have been looking around to see what a set of 22's, spinners, and tires would run me. I am hopping I can get some less expensive rims and such for $2,500. I found a lot of 22's that run around $1k for a set and about $600 for the spinners.
Well I cant find any tires. I was told tires for 20" + rims are almost as expensive as the rims themselves! Is this true? I cant find any 265/75/R22's or 285/75/R22's in a load range E ply. Anyone know where I can get some? All I really need is a price quote.
Do you think I could get what I want off the Internet for $2,500?

I don't think you really need to worry about E-rated tires.
First, make sure the WHEELS are rated to carry the weight, then see if you can find tires that are rated to carry the weight. Don't worry about Letter ratings. There are some D-rated tires that can carry almost as much weight as E-rated.
Do you have an idea about how much your truck is gonna weigh when it's done?
It will roll in at about 10,000 lbs when its done. Thee will be more weight on the rear axle then the front, but not much more. Maybe 55 / 45 or 60 / 40.
spl, i dont think the tire size is anywhere in the ballpark. you should look at what you are typing and try to find the correct tire size first. it's kind of a definate that you don't know tires. check my gallery. i have a set of 22's on my X. tire size is 305/45/22's. if your truck is stock height, the tire size should be 305/40/22's. you really have t be careful on the wheel choice. i wouldn't go wider than a 9.5 or 10". also an offset of -12 should work the best. THE LAST THING--SIPNNERS ARE STUPID---STAY AWAY.....and your not gonna get them for $2500. is it 2wd or 4wd? that makes a difference.

Those tires seem smaller then the stock ones on your truck. Are those tires the stock height? Why cant I go wider then 10"? My suspension height is about 1" below stock. And why should I stay away from spinners? They look nice IMO. My truck is 4wd. All I see is FWD and RWD rims. I dont see any rims labeled for four wheel drive vehicles. Do they have special rims for such or do I just get RWD rims? And what’s this "offset of -12"?
the 4 wheel drive wheels will be different by the fact the front rims need a larger cutout for the hubs for one...the offset/backspacing is the measurement of how far the rim sticks out from the axle basically, also dictates how far outside the body it sticks, adjusted to allow for lifts, ease steering issues from body rub ETC
Like the looks of your truck, and the nice installment of the Offroad lights. I'm in a big debate on the mirror's i got the sport mirror's or whatever they are called. Altho when i started looking i wanted the big trailor mirror's, but have kinda grown fond of the smaller mirror's with the big <> for turn sig's.
you can tell by looking. my 305/45/22's are 32.8 tall. the factory whatevers aren't that tall. you should go to your local tire shop and have them explain how to read and interperate the numbers.
numbers on tires are simple ^^ the 305/45/22 means 305 millimeters wide or 30.5 centimeters, 45 is the height of the sidewall as a percentage of width, so 45 means 45% of 305 or 137.25mm the 22 means 22 inch rim, sometimes written R22 for Radial.
thanks bulldog. i dont have the pacience for that. most people cant grasp the concept that when you go up in rim size, the profile has to be lowered if the same height wants to be obtained.
i have a 2wd x with 285/45/24's no problems 24x10 rim running the toyo proxies. i pull a 8.5 x28 trailer evey weekend to the track loaded with drag bikes and stuff no problems but that is why i went with the toyo's and down to a 285 so i could get the 45 profile
mine are 24's but the toyos are $500 each 285/45/24 i got mine local for $3600 mounted and balanced out the door.i went with the toyos because i pull so much
