I own a 2000 ex 4wd and i have a noise coming from the rear when i go over bumps.I've looked under the truck and the only thing i noticed was that the one bump stop on helper spring was worn down.Has anybody seen this or heard this noise .
That spring is not a "helper" but rather an anti-windup leaf or simply put: a traction bar. It prevents (or tries to) axle wrap due to the mushy springs put on these trucks.
How much is it worn down compared to the other side? It could signal a broken spring. Have you checked for that?
Check the shocks, they coming loose sometimes on the top. Thats what was causing the noise on mine and I couldnt find out after I tried to replace them. I end up customizeing the top seat mount for the shocks.
