I can speak from experience from my SD pick up. I bought mine with 134000 miles on it and it now has 154000 miles. It still runs great. Mine had a lot of highway miles on it when purchased. Only problem I had was when it spit a plug and ruined a coil pack. I ended up getting it rethreaded and all the plugs replaced.

The v-10 is really reliable. If you go down to the v-10 forum, some of the people down there have seen v-10's with 250,000 to 320,000 with no rebuilt, but of course a tranny rebuilt.

We have one at work with about 220,000 on it, getting rid of it due to chassis issues, motor still runs good.

The V10 is one solid engine. One of the unsung "heros" in the Ford engine lineup.

I've only had mine for about a week and L O V E it. BUt i've been hanging out in the V-10 Forumn since the '05's came out. And all i can say is i wish they'd a put the 3v in my '05, but it's still better then only running 8cylinder's.

I was wondering about that and when i asked in the V10 section i was told it was quite a job and wiring had to be changed along with all kinds of stuff on the motor. If i could have done a simple heads and intake swap parts would have been on order already lol.

The idea of spending that much dough just to get 52 more HP is a bit absurd. If a person could get a 3V V10 w/ the 5R110 tranny and everything you need from a donor truck REAL CHEAP (like less than 3K) then it might be worth it. Otherwise, just find a Whipple or Kenne Bell Supercharger and and watch those 3V V10 guy's BSEG turn in to a BSEF (Big S*** Eatin' FROWN!!) Those will pump a 2V up to around 450+/625+ for around 5 grand.

Monsta, theres no replacement for displacement. No matter what you do to ur 2v, and you do the same mod to the 3v, its still going to have 52 more hp! Also it'd be cool to have the right to say "hey i have a 3v in my Excursion".

The displacement is the same between the two engines. One has an extra intake valve.

Yes, it would be cool to have a 3V with the Torqshift in the Excursion running through updated 20" wheels, axles & suspension (like the SD) all the while turning 4.30 gears. Ah...a person can dream, I guess.

I knew that the 3v and the 2v are the same displacment, I just didn't know how else to word it. If only we all could when the lottery Then it would be worth it to put a 3v, etc in the Ex.
