switching fuels

I have a stationary inline 6 engine running on natural gas and want to switch it to propane. Will the natural gas system run propane? The intake manifold is upside down, and the exhaust is straight upward. Can a propane carb still operate if the carb and other components are flipped upside down? What mods are required to do the switch?

A propane carb will operate upside down. You will need a propane mixer, converter and fuel lockoff......................and a tank of propane, of course.

It may need to be rejetted. I know a furnace uses different orfice sizes for natural gas and propane.

Depending on the equipment maybe. If its IMPCO you may or may not need to put in a new air valve/diaphragm in the carb but you will need a regulator to put in the supply line as the Nat unit will not work. Contact your LP supplier and ask them to research it for you.

Or e-mail me and I will give you my 800 number
