My ABS light stays on and the brakes are acting funny. Could this just be a ABS Sensor problem? if so, where is it located on the vehicle? any help would be appreciated.
Sometimes a problem with the brakes will cause a signal to the computer that confuses it into thinking that there's a problem with the sensors. In my experience, when the ABS system goes, the brakes feel fine. Then, it's a problem with the sensors or other part of the system. When the ABS fails, the brakes simply work like they did before the days of ABS.
I think you might have a brake problem, but without a better description of the symptoms, it's a bit hard to come up with a suggestion as to what to check out. Let us know
Check how your rear brake shoes are doing. I knew mine were low mid last year, but about September my ABS light came on. Once your brake pistons push so far out and reach a certain level they go beyond the ABS sensors sight. If by acting funny you mean that you're experiencing some vibration thru the wheel you may be down to the rivets and they are grabbing onto the drum.
i'll check the brakes, I think you are right. I knew my back brake pads were low but didn't relize it would effect the ABS sensor. I'll let you know the outcome. thanks for your help.
