99 Explorer Air Bag Problems - Psgr Seat Connector
Hello all,
I was wondering if someone could help me. About a year and a half ago, someone kicked the Air Bag wire under the passenger seat of my 99 Explorer Sport. The Air Bag light started blinking, and the code was 3-7. Naturally, I checked this and found out it was a problem with the wire underneath the passenger seat.
Well, the wire basically was cut at the almost edge of the connector. After trying to sodder it, it still kept becoming disconnected. Now, I'm just looking for the connector itself, rather than fooling around with extending this one.
I've attached pictures of it, and I'm trying to find out if anyone knows of a part number for this specific connector, or at least a place to get it. I tried my local dealer and they weren't too much help. I've attached some pictures for convenience sake.
I have the exact same problem. Maybe this is a common issue. Were you able to find a source for the connector. If you did, please share. Did that cancel your code 37?
I just got back from my local junk yard. They had a 2000 Taurus with the same plug under the passenger seat. Snip the two wires, solder it back in. And like magic, the light is out. Only cost me $3 bucks
Good job! Personally, I would have just cut out the connector and soldered the wired together... but that's just me.. and I'm not even sure of the legalities of doing that.
