i rebuilt my engine and had everything cleaned including my idle air control. put everything back together and she is up aroung 1100rpm.
its an 89' with EFI. how do i adjust that? i also got a code that my
O2 sensor is reading always lean. is there some corelation between both problems? if someone can point me in the right direction id realy apreciate it. Thanks
How did you clean your IAC? Did you clean the solenoid? If the solenoid is shot - all the cleaning in the world won't help. It might be a defunct IAC solenoid...or the connector to it..etc
Check your timing too -
Check your fuel pressure -
also, something to consider is the TPS - no codes?
sory i was not specific. the actual valve that moves back and forth and dictates how much air gets by. but i am going to check my fuel pressure today. thanx. oh, no tps codes. just 13; RPM out of spec.
I have had this same problem on my 93 bronco. The lean reading on the o2 sensor was caused by a bad fuel preasure regulator. Also, I cleaned my iac valve because it was idling way to high and it went the opposite way. It idled way to low and stalled .I turned the throttle stop screw out to bring the idle up to about 800 rpms. It seemed to work, But I'm going to check the iac with a
tester to see if it's working or not.
Dennis
yea i was kinda leaning torwards the pressure regulator i'll check that out too, thanx. but i heard you arent suposed to mess with the throtle stop screw, i dont know why. ill do some reserch and get back to you on that.
