driver rear door wont open

driver rear door wont open
97 explorer. the rear door on driver side wont open from the inside or the out side. the child lock is on stopping the door from opening from the inside and i believe the clip for the outside handle has broke, not allowing the door to open from the outside.
has anyone come accross this problem before. does anyone know how to get this door open so the problem can be fixed.
