My right manifold cracked by the first mounting bolt ear. Is it possible and effective to repair with a weld? I hate to rig things but finding a replacement has been challenging
Also, does anyone have a carb spacer plate for a 2bl Ford on a 292? Mine is missing a corner by the mounting bolt and the thing is made of bakelight..wonder why not aluminum?
If it is a holley 4 2bbl that is the big base holley as in 4 bolts. You should be able to get one at napa, advance, etc. I know that advance carrys them. When a customer wants one I just go dig in the cab gaskt boxes and get one. The replacements we sell are plastic. But i would think napa and other would have them if it is the big base 2 bbl. I am not shure on the manfold. might find one on eaby, the truck manfolds are not in great demand I think . good luck
The problem with welding cast iron is the tempature changes due to the part heating and cooling. Not to mention having it line up correctly. It will last for a little while until you do come across a replacement manifold or swap them out for headers. Ask Arctic Y Block since he might have a source, he loves that engine series. I did find a set on ebay though. Check them out on the link.
That maybe true but there is still plenty of room in the engine bay for them. Number Dummy will they fit or am I sending him on a wild goose chase?
No car parts books handy, sorry. I do have the 60/64 books, but just before finding FTE, I loaned them to a friend who knows I want them back, after repeated phone messages. He seems never to be home..if you catch my drift.
Well I guess it is up to nuwave to ask the seller for a few more pictures with a ruler placed against the manifolds in key mounting points before he buys them.
