If anyone should read this, I'm looking for a 1936 Ford truck...something in a project state, not too far gone or not completed. I had one when I was 16 (1973) and was too young to know what to do with it...so I sold it and bought my first real guitar & amp...since then I've rocked the nation, but still have dreams about the truck - time to do something about that!!! I you have one or know of where I can find one I'd sure appreciate it if you'd drop me a line!! Thanks,
I don't know if it's a half ton or something larger becuase I haven't seen it in a couple of years, but there is (what someone told me) a 1936 Ford truck on property owned by Abel Welding Shop in San Marcos, Texas (think it's the shop's name).
The shop is on Hunter Road, between McCarty Lane and Posey Road (Hunter Rd. runs parallel to I-35, a mile away, McCarty is around exit 200, Posey is about 199). When going on Hunter Rd. from McCarty to Posey, (heading south) the shop is off to the right - a gravel road leads up from Hunter Rd - not much else is out there). There is a cell phone tower very close to the shop. I can maybe post the telephone number for the place tomorrow - I'm extremely busy now, or you can look it up. Area code 512, San Marcos Texas.
The truck had the V8 tags on the side of the hood, the kind that folds to the center, has an engine, looks mostly complete, restorable in my non-educated opinion. The truck is about 100 feet from the shop (when heading up the road you will see the truck before the shop, it's all about 50 feet from Hunter Road but there are trees in the way).
I seen serveral 1936 and up p/u's in a town called Hempstead Texas, at a dealership, marshall,
it is on 290 just about three miles outside of the town.
