We haven't gotten that far yet, but plan on putting welting between the two. I'm going to make my own so that we can match the truck color. I think it will look better, don't like the metal to metal thing and should help with any noise.
I have a 1946 1/2 ton pickup and there are no gaskets for the running boards. I have got a lot of help already from the "boards" and believe these people know the answers. Good luck with the truck!! Let us see some pictures when your done.
Thanks for the help. Hope i can help some day. I think i will use welting since the running boards are black and the fenders are black to,the body is green.
Hey Guys - don't just wait until your trucks are done to create your user gallery. Put the pict's in as you go. Some of us like seeing the progress. I'll be adding to my gallery once tax season is over and I have a life again.
I'd love to put my pics of my trucks in my gallery, unfortunatly I'm in AZ temporarily and my trucks are stored back home in CA. I'm gonna go back home for a few days in Aug, I may just have to take a few rolls of film and snap some pics of my trucks. Getting married DEC 7, and moving back, then I'll really create a gallery full of the progress i make on my trucks. Boy, I really miss them...
