I`m trying to find a 1940 Ford cab. Anyone know the best place to try please. A Marmon Herrington Ford cab would be ideal. I need everything, hood, fenders, grill, doors etc.
Hi, i saw a website that sells whole vehicles and they also had a couple early '40's cabs for sale. The website is Heartland Vintage Vehicles. Evev if your too far away from him, the ads are real neat. I would like to buy a few of them if i could get out there. My girl says "one more truck in the yard....(you know!!) Joshua
i have a 41 ford truck i'm selling the hood, fenders, grill, the thing in between the fenders and the hood, and the head light pods. i also have a dullie rear end, and a trans. with the PTO on it. all of the body pieces are in really good condition for as rare as they are they even have the chrome on the hood and the grill.
Bob hi
Anychance of some photos of your 41 cab parts. Also where about in the states are you? I`m in Scotland!! As far as your cab is concerned a couple of questions. Are the headlamps on stalks or built into fenders? Is the cab interior complete?
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 07-May-02 AT 07:44 PM (EST)]nigel hi
yes i do have pic of the truck, but i dont have them me right now so ill get them as soon as possible.
i live in kansas (in the middle of the US). the head lamp are on stalks. the caps interior is complete but im not looking to sell the actual cap just the fenders, grill, hood, the trans (with the PTO on it), and the dualie rear end.
Bob thanks for reply. I`d still be interested in photos of the parts you do have to sell. Look at my gallery for the mammoth project I have taken on board!! You can see I require everything from the chassis up!!
hi nigel
i got some pictures of my truck here but im not sure how to add them so can you please tell me how to add pictures or give me your email address.
i went and looked at your truck that needs quite a bit of work i was wondering if that was origanally a dump truck or what it was im not sure. and if the reason that it is a right side drive truck is because you live in scotland.
Bob
Got the photos of your truck thanks. Great project, pity you`re not selling it all!!! Could do with the whole cab forward! Keep a look out for another for me. The odd thing is I thought the 1941 Ford trucks had the headlamps fitted into the fenders. I know the 1938-40 Ford trucks had them on stalks like yours. Whats you`re dashboard and instrument cluster like? Got any photos of them?
My chassis was built by Ford of Dagenham, England most likely from parts supplied by Ford of Canada. It was converted by County Commercials to 6x4 with a chassis extension. It was fitted with a 1940 cab (What I am looking for). The truck was used in a number of roles such as searchlight, photographic unit, fuel bowser and balloon winch etc. Oh yes nearly forgot my project, tank transporter body!
the reason that the head lights are on stalks is also because the truck is an old farm truck, a dully. your truck ounds like its gonna be pretty neat when it is done.
The 38-39 Ford trucks had the headlights on the stands. In '40 Ford put the headlights in the fenders, except on the bigger trucks which got unique front sheetmetal. Those still had the headlights mounted outside of the fenders. The same goes for '41.

Hi Gary thanks for reply.
What way was the sheet medal on the `40 trucks different say from the `40 pickups? Its just I thought the pickup cab was the same as the truck cab. Am I wrong?
Bob it wouldn`t take much to get that cab of yours good. Lucky fella! Thats just what I`m after, guess I`ll have to have a trip over the big pond!
