This truck has been sitting here for many years because the waterpumps kept spraying water on the distributor and we couldn't find gaskets back then. I remember it being driven to it's final resting place. I would guess it to be a 1 yard dump bed on what looks like a 1.5 ton dually chassis. Since I have no knowledge of these trucks I could be wrong.
They have some value, more of course if the flathead can be made to run again w/o too much work. The bigger (over 1 ton) are kind of difficult to sell though. I guess it's due to the size of them, that most people don't want them for street use. The cabs on them, as well as hood, and grill are the same as the 1/2 tons, so if the metal is in good shape then it could be worth something to somebody looking for clean, rust free metal. As a side note, in high school shop a few years ago, my teacher got a '38 1.5 ton in a trade. He added IFS, a Chevy 454, and added a new rear with fat Mickey Thompsons on it. You got to admit, a '47 Ford dump truck would make one very interesting street rod.
