Looking for a '35, '36 or '37 Ford 1-ton truck...

..in restorable condition. It is going to be a flatbed so the bed is not important. just the cab and chassis and power train in good condition. Any tips on where I cn find one would be appreciated.

Hi Virgil,
Ford did not make a one ton truck until 1938. Prior to that, all that was availible was either a 1/2 ton or a 1-1/2 ton. Hope this helps.

Post Looking for a '35, '36 or '37 Ford 1-ton truck...

Hi Virgil,
I've had a '37 for about 5 years.... there is a rather long story about it....I'll try to keep it simple. 15 years ago my best friend bought a 37 1.5 ton Ford in Minnesota and I helped him trailer it home to Cape Cod MA. It was in excellant shape, fresh out of a barn, no rust, and RAN! Back on the Cape, he drove it for 6 months, decided to do a frame of restoration, and pulled it all apart.... each part was numbered and boxed. Can you guess the rest of the story? He moves to Maine, gets divorced, and the project dies. About 5 years ago, I traded my Harley Davidson for his truck. He brought down all the boxes of parts and sheet metal (the cab has been sitting in my cellar all this time, fenders and all the boxes stored in the loft of my barn). I haven't done anything to the project because the frame and running gear were still in Maine and I haven't had the time to go and get it, which brings me to the present.......I found a truck - hauler who is going to transport the final pieces to me next week...then the fun begins!

I saw your message in this forum which got me to thinking.... Do I really want to put all this time into a BIG truck when I really want to drive a smaller antique pickup around town. If you haven't found a truck yet, we should get together and discuss the future of my '37. To anyone else reading this, I will surely be looking for advice as I put the pieces together.

Hope to hear from you,

Jamie

Hi Jamie - Welcome to FTE and the '47 & Older forum. Sounds to me like you have a great truck there.
