Ticking sound coming from front end
I've got an 04 fx4 with about 62k on it and i started getting a ticking coming from the front end. It only happens when i engage four wheel drive and it increases with speed which leads me to believe its the transfer case, if any one knows what it might be and how to fix it your help would be greatly appreciated

I have always heard that clicking in the front end is associated with CV joints. Don't these trucks have CV joints (NOT u-joints) in the front end? That would be my guess. It could also be a hub but would go with the joints.

My uncle has an 05 FX4 and he had a noise in the front end, clicking I believe and they replced an solinoid that engages the 4wd it was up near the fire wall it was engaging and disengaging the 4wd.
There may have even been a TSB out on it not 100% sure on that tho.
