I have a 1934 ford truck with a Gar Wood dump unit. It is D6 type. I have no title only a bill of sale. I found a plate with the ford logo that reads: 5E212 f37A EE RIN M 4 080. Is this the vin #? Does anyone know were I might find any info on this year truck as I want to restore it? Thanks, *****
*****, welcome aboard. I can't say I know '34 VINs like I know later ones, but that seems to be way too long of a number to be the VIN. I think they are shorter, starting with a star ,and ending with a star. Check out the driver's frame rail, in the engine comparment, it may be there. May be something like *BBxxxxxx* Hope this helps a little.
Pretty sure Gary is right on track with the frame rail and the stars and the BB before the number. Start about a foot in front of the firewall and start scraping the top of the frame rail. If the trans is original to the truck, the same number should be on it on the flange in front of the shifter. The attached plates are not usually a vin on a ford.
