Starting my first ever project and think I have decided on buying a new MII IFS with airbags. There are many available...what ones are the best value? My 53 will be a daily driver not show truck but nice. Also am going with 9" ford rear are there companies other than currie which offer housings and axles (I have 3rd member)
Thanks.
I saw one on Ebay listed by CPP.....it included free shipping, free tranny and engine mounts, and free PS upgrade for a lower price than what TCI offers just the MII . I called CPP to ask a question about the package and they offered to do the same deal without going thru Ebay........friendly , good customer service. I was pleased.
Welcome to FTE!
First, unless you want your daily driver to lean like a drunken sailor, wear out tires like they are free, and handle like a barge forget about the airbags! Heidt's makes the best IFS kit out there IMHO (and Chip Foose, if it's good enough for Chip it's good enough for me. ) You get what you pay for.
The best place to buy a 9" rear end is in a junk yard, you don't need an aftermarket housing built for a 1000 HP race car.

If you're going with the MII front end with a 5 on 4 1/2, check out an explorer rear end. Right width, right bolt pattern, disc brakes available, cheap. See the link Fergie posted above, then search recent posts for install tips.
