1951 vacuum wiper motor

Wiper motor does not have vacuum lines hooked up There are two fittings how do I hook this up. Has any one used the elec kit that is complete kit and if so how was the installation.I ordered a 12v motor conversion but my set up is different than one on instructions. Mine may be a 50 motor?

My 51F1has the vacuum hose fitting on the upper left (driver) side of the vacuum motor. It's the only hose fitting on the unit. As I have a 302 V8 installed, I run the line to the same intake manifold vacuum port I use for the tranny modulator. Some early cars had a vacuum port on the fuel pump. If you have 2 fittings on the vacuum motor, you may have a different vacuum motor than I. Perhaps from a truck that had 2, and the other vacuum port is just a pass through, to hook to another unit? I'd cap the one farthest from the driver, and see what happens.

It may not be the same as yours but I have vacuum motor with a hose
connection on the passenger side. There is what looks like a hose fitting pointing down. The vacuum line goes to the top passenger side with nothing on the bottom. My Vacuum line comres off the fuel pump like was mentioned above. Hope this helps.

I replaced the vacuum motor in my '49, buying a new one from Joblot Auto. My book shows the same motor for 48-52. There are two hose barbs pointing opposite directions. The vacuum line connects to the one on the passenger side. I think the other side is a bleed which is needed so the wipers park when the switch is set to the off position. Don't cap it. My vacuum line connects behind and below the carb.

This is not a really easy to get at component. I had to remove the defroster vent and finally had to loosen the instrument cluster to get access at the mounting nuts. Be sure to disconnect the battery, since you'll be right in front of the instruments. Good luck!

I replaced my vacuum unit with the aftermarket electric bolt on kit. I don't remember the namebrand, but it is great! It bolted in with no modifications necessary, and the electtric switch came with multiple speeds.
