I know there is another forum for 302s, but I trust the answers here
I have a 1971 302 from a Torino in my 56' It never seems right when I time it with a light, and I have to fuss with it by ear/feel. Has an RV cam, 2 bbl Holly. Pretty stock. Drop in Pertronix in a stock distributor (reman)
I know there is a way to use vacuum to judge the best distributor position, anyone remember the procedure?
Highest steady vacuum without the engine missing...used this on my old 223 ci. To be honest though, I've never tried it on an 8 cyl engine. More to it anyone?
