Just finished a 302 swap on my '89 fullsize bronco and when i took the original motor out i had to cut the steel line that leads from the radiator to the transmission oil cooler...I picked up a 5/16 steel line and when i threaded the fitting into the radiator there was still room for the line to move back and forth. i couldnt find the original adapter so i tried a couple of stores looking for a longer threaded one but no such luck... Let me know if you have any ideas...

So you are dealing with a fitting on the flared end of the tubing I take it that is too short to run down tight enough to clamp the line into the fitting. If you can't find a fitting that is long enough that fits a flared piece of tubing, you might be able to cut the flared end off and use a compression fitting on the line instead. I'd only do that as a last resort simply because in my experience, compression fittings don't seal nearly as well as the flared tubing and end fitting.
