im trying to build fords greatest engine into a performance engine (4.9 l) but i cant find any web site that offers performance parts besides cliffordperformance.net but that web site is currently unavailable can some one please help me
There aren't many. Most companies make headers for the 4.9. If it's EFI you're going to have a lot of trouble finding performance parts. I think there are cams out there if you search hard enough.
Wow! This just blows my mind when guys use preformance and 300I6 in the same sentence. It's a fricking WORK TRUCK MOTOR and a dang good one at that, but come on, performance? Does it set you back in the seat so you can't grab the dollar bill off the dash board? Does it go so stinkin fast to make you have blured vision that your mind can not keep up with it? Hell no, never will.
You guys need to get out more often. I guess I have been spoiled by riding sport bikes over 200k miles the past 20 years. My van is my bike hauler and camp rig with clifford and holley to get me there faster. Spoiled rotten and lovin it. Twist and shout.
A lot of people would just like some upgrades as with any engine. And it doesn't help that the 302/351 have such a great aftermarket and the 300 wasn't really payed attention to.

Somebody needs to clill me thinks.
while most here have no intention of building a race motor from a big six, it can be done. For one currently doing it in Ohio look up Frenchtown Flyer. He's running a 500 odd horsepower T-bucket. Others have built competative pull trucks and tractors using this block.
Most people will nay say using a Ford inline for any kind of performance. Then they see what can be done with them by people willing to build something different. It's not easy or cheap to deliberately buck the trends for high output V8's and V6's by using a straight block, but it can be done. Take a look at the Aussie inlines, the BMW inlines for a couple of examples of what is still being produced.
Instead of jumping someone because he what's to find what's available, perhaps the energy is better spent help him learn the capabilities and limitations inherent in the stated project.
As others have pointed out, there is a sticky at the top of this conference related to EFI performance.
That being said...
There are two big limiters in squeezing power out of the EFI big block six...and numerous smaller ones. The head and the computer.
The stock head has poor flow characteristics and is non-crossflow. There are currently no aftermarket heads available. That includes Clifford, thier heads are reworked iron carb heads. But...there is an aluminium one that is in developement at Classic Inlines that should be able to be used in both carb and FI applications. Barring that, a good machinist should be able to provide a fuctional port and polish job as well as possibly larger valves.
The computer is the second major obstical. The people that have full access to the program and table specs are few and far between. With knowledgable changes burned to a chip that is then plugged into the J3 test port changes to injector sizes and cams can be done reliably.
The real limitation is what you performance goals you have and what you budget is to get there.
I am building a rat rod out of a 1950 F1, and I am considering a I6 just because it isn't a 350 chevy! Seems like a cool way to make some power, and since this will be no hood or fenders the motor will be sticking right out there to see, why not have something different?
I only seek a few easy extra hp's, not from my bike because I can't pedal that fast, but from the 4.9 in my '93 TRUCK, in which you will never get your bike hauled.
I'd love to see a rail running a 4.9 or a tractor w/ stacked 4.9s pulling a monstrous weight sled past the line. FULL PULL!!!!
You might get passed by a custom bike running a 4.9 one day.
It'd be cool to see anyway.
Keep 'em comin' gang .... I'm reading w/ interest!
