2000 Expedition Transfer Case Removal
Truck Bustin,
is about all I've been up to now I have a desparation shot for the forum, this is a good one for the good bad n ignoramies uh me. I've got a 2000 Expo that off the hook buck wild, fire breathing, coil/plug blastin, drive snapping, gas guzzeling, doghog. This is my favorite truck a Rockin Baja Thumper, its modified with some really neat stuff Kenne Bell Twin Screw SuperCharger 8lb boost, modified chip set, boost fuel/spark, Bassani Cat Back, no cats.
This is a 4 x 4 in desperate need of tran makeover a task that I decided to take on myself. This tranny is a HD Bullet proof setup 6 pinion Steel planet forward rear, extra clutches, 45 pin sprag, updated valve body & pump, topped off with a Billet Triple Clutch low stall torque converter. I"m new to the forum and I just let the forum know? That this truck creates chaos with every shop that has seen it. It's nothing compared to a Lighting but it runs when it does.
Now can you feel me on this do you have to take off the transfer case to remove the transmission. Jousting the transfer case back n forth with both drive lines removed unbolted from the transmission. The transfer case seems like it has enough room to slide back to where the transmission could easily drop straight down? If the transfer case has to be removed then the torsion bar/crossmember has to be removed also. Man I would rather balance the tc on the tor/cross member? Anyone have any success with this idea/
Your answers will be greatly appreciated to any and all interested in Philsbury's Quest ta dis Aincha Mama ya know the one with the rolling pin.
