Tire Fitment with Daystar Kit on 03

I'm getting ready to put the daystar spacers and a new wheel/tire set up on my 03 Expy. I have talked to a couple 4x4 shops and made a call to daystar on this and just wanted to see if anybody on here has done any set-up like this personally...

I am going with the daystar spacers 2" rear/ 2 1/2" front lift

the wheels I want are Eagle alloys 064 in 18x10
Tires are 325/60 18 Nitto Terra Grapplers
tires are a 32.9" tire

four wheel parts told me the rim/tire combo was too wide and would prolly rub with this set up.....Daystar Tech support says they will fit fine with a 4 1/2" backspaced wheel, and also mentioned you can actually run a 34" tire with the spacers

anybody running a wide rim/tires combo like this?? any issues??

thanks

FWIW

I have a 2003 E.B. Expy and have the 2 inch daystar spacers. I stuck with 17 inch rims and got 285/70/17 on it. Very slight rub if i am hard over to one side or the other. Other than that no problems. I would just watch, with the bigger tires, the amount of pressure your rims are taking. with 18's you should be ok. Just be careful.

They are stock ford chrome. I actually got em off ebay for 125 for all 4.

I just remember the guy at NTB telling me that i didnt want to go much bigger than that on 17s because of the stress on the rim.

Sorry i dont have any pics right now. Maybe tomorrow i will go shoot some and post.

I have the Daystars on my '03 FX4 and I am running Eagle Alloy 17's with 285/70/17 BFG at/KO's and I have plenty of room to go bigger. I can send pics if you want.

What do you think the biggest you could go is. I was afraid of going bigger due to rub and stress on rim.

I think the the 305/70/17's would be fine in the wheel well, but may rub a little when sharp turning. I considered buying bigger tires and buying the Lightning turn stops, but decided to just do the 285's. Also feel free to email me with any questions you have about the install as I have done the spacers on a couple of them. Here is a picture of it:

I considered buying bigger tires and buying the Lightning turn stops, but decided to just do the 285's and just play it safe. I don't think you need to worry about stressing the steel rims either. that looks pretty good, I will have to test fit a couple different combos to see how much rubber I can get under mine. I really would like the 325/60-18 combo if possible.
