1964 rear bumper

I am wondering about which trucks between 64-66 that had wrap around bumpers. I have looked at a lot of sights and photos and have only seen one other. Was this standard or an optional bumper. The one on my truck ends right behind the wheelwell.

That is a west of the big muddy thing, and aftermarket. The Ford bumpers all end at the corners. Some of those darn things even bolted to the fenders. What a way to screw up a truck.

Mine bolted to the fender. I didnt know if it was after market or not. I do know that I am going to have to remove it in order to straighten it. Anyone have some pics of an original style bumper?

Randy about any Ford truck without a step bumper from 60 to 80 should have one like I'm talking about.

1964 rear bumper

John, thanks for the info about the bumper. I'm still learning about 61-66 models. I purchased the truck from a co-worker for $300 and from his knowledge I'm the fourth owner. It has 38,000 on the rebuilt 292 and the only body damage is a small dent on the front passenger side fender and on the rear drivers side fender next to the the beautiful aftermarket bumper i have on it. I will be having a lot of questions about this truck. I know that by the vin number it was assembled in march of 64 in san jose. The original color was starlight blue. One bit of confusion is that it says 81A on the plate but on the charts I've looked at says its a standard cab and mine says custom cab inside and out. Is that part of 64 being a transition year. Anyway i love this truck and could go on and on about things. P.S. This is a great sight.
