42-47 1/2 ton pickup right rear fender
Been a while since I last posted.
The 45 1/2 ton ford pickup is coming along slow but sure.
I have 2 1/2 years in this project and looks like at least 1 1/2 to go to finish it. Should have it in primer and assembled in 2007 spring time, but not painted.
My quection is;
Does anybody have a decent 1942-47 right rear fender for sale that does not have pin holes all over it, or rust rotted off. No 1940-41 please.
I bought one on ebay, and it is a disaster. It looked good with all of the pictures, but he covered it with red primer, and covered all of the rotted off fender with bondo. Bought it last year, and to late to cry about it.
I also need both the right and left front fenders that are not rotted off of where the running boards meet them?
If you are close enough to ILLINOIS,(100 miles southwest of Chicago), I will come and pick them up. If not, I will gladly pay for the shipping to get a decent set. My phone number is 309-463-2135.
Thanks,
Lee
It might be too far for you, and you might have already checked it out, but there is a guy on fordbarn selling front and rear fenders plus running boards. He lives in GA. Just go down the list to the Monday July 3rd ads. Maybe you can work something out.
I checked out that guy in Ga. and I went down and bought all that he had.
He had both front fenders, both rear fenders, both running boards, grill w/bars, and the hood. All of these pieces were outstanding pieces. I only found a couple of rust holes on the left front fender, but very workable.
I can't understand why he couldn't sell these parts.
The running boards are almost NOS, if that tells you how nice these pieces were.
Thank you very much for putting me on these parts.
Take care,
Lee
Thanks for posting your response, It makes it worth trying to help someone. Probably the reason that guy on fordbarn couldn't sell quickly is because the ads there move down so fast daily that most people don't like to have to look down so many ads to find anything. Good luck, with your truck. I only wish my 46 was as far along as your truck.
