2003 fx4 light vibration

hi new to site i have 2003 fx4 offroad i purchased used october of 05. currently has 33519mi on. when i first got everthing was perfect then approx 1,000mi later developed very slight vibration from 58mph down to 48mph on decel only in 5th gear [manual trans]. at same time trans has slight noise in morning in 2nd gear [ cold ] these 2 problems came at same time returned to dealer 2 different times rebalanced tires checked driveline angles etc cannot find anything . it seems to be trans problem as it only occures in 5th gear down shift to 4th vibration gone. push clutch in vibration gone leave clutch out vibration returns. any ideas keep in mind this is not eccessive but is annoying. seems to me that it might be bearing going bad in trans? truck just out of war-n-t but problem logged with ford. i do have faith in this dealer. thats not the problem but ford will not allow them to pull trans to check on a hunch. ok any ideas ? sorry for long post just trying to provide enough info thanks in advance

First Mis-steak. you trusted the dealer. on to the problem. Think maybe a fluid change wouldn't hurt. but consider this, the speed of the tranny might be combining with the resonence of something else to create your schimmy. my truck has a similar problem since i regeared it. dropped the tranny, checked whole system over after about 1k miles and no damage to anything. if your really concerned you could get the bearings and the gear replaced, but i think you may have broken the front end in, picked up a viberation, and with the viberation, and the tranny viberation form the gear, the two combine and make your problem. i dont have any adice that wont cost you anything, except let it be, but that may be dangerous.

Do you get the vibration with the tranny in neutral, and the clutch out?

First-off, i'm moving to Maryland. Secondly, did you try a front end alignment? it could help, alot.

It sounds like the pilot bearing and/or tranny input bearing are bad, causing the input shaft to go out of alignment.

You shouldn't have to buy it, your warranty should cover it since the problem is documented at the dealer....

I think he said his warranty was out.

If you go in the tranny to do the pilot bearing you may as well do the clutch and slave as well...save yourself time later. My thoughts anyways.
