I'm 350 miles from home and my trans temp guage is pegged and the tow/haul light is flashing. The dealer here changed the fluid and both filters. Didnt work but I paid the 312.00 bill. They're keeping it tonight and going to call me in the morning. Has any one else had this problem? and also I thought the 2003 models had a 100,000 mile trans warranty. I searched the forums but couldnt really find an answer. Thanks, looks like I'll be here a while.
Ouch....a little steep on the trans flush & filter change aren't we. Copy this off and show him he is a little high, did he kiss you on the cheek on the way out the door?
Sorry on the Warranty, can't remember but I was thinking 3-36 Someone will correct me if I am wrong. Welcome to FTE and have a look around.

The trans is only covered until 3/36. Sorry to say that it sounds like you found a dealer with either a green tranny tech or no tranny tech at all. A fluid and filter change is not going to correct what is most likely a very damaged tranny.
the temp guage is for the torque converter correct? so would this indicate a overheating tranny or just torque converter? and where is the temp guage physically?
the dealership called 30 mins. before they were closing and said they got 2 fault codes, it looks like I have a shorted wire or electrical problem. I hope he is right. I'll keep you posted. I got a rental and drove home, I'm trying to decide weather or not to go get my truck on a trailer and have it close by. Just dont know?
I called a local ford dealer and he said that the early 03 6.0 had a TFTS in the solenoid valve body and they had a problem with them so the came out with a replacement control. The tech that has my truck said that was on the early 03 7.3 and my truck doesn't have that. He's still looking for a wire problem between the ins. panel and the PCM. Does anyone know who is right?
