will one fit in my 65. the overall lenth is 2 1/2 inches shorter than my 65 a/t column. more room for thefat guy! Give you correct shift position for my c6 also better place for emer. flasher switch. take the column support off your 66 & usa it on the 78. direct bolt in!!! also used 14in. grant gt wheel. Bendix steering box adds couple more in. of space . all work great together. get her done!!!!!

The steering columns in the '70s are popular upgrades for the '65 and later trucks.
They are especially useful for adding power steering, as the manual steering column is about 2 inches longer than the power steering one.
Do a search on this topic in the '61-'66 forum, and you will learn a wealth of information, including pitfalls and successes.

I have one from a 75 in my 66. Direct bolt in, had to change my steering column. That due to using a saginaw type steering box
