42-47 Wood Cab Mounting Blocks

Does anyone know where I can purchase new hardwood Cab mounting blocks for my 47 1/2 ton cab to frame? Is there a substiute that I can use, maybe something made out of composite or other material. What did you use on yours?

Thanks 5 Star for responding so quickly. I went to the web site and checked it out. I have purchased from them before, floor pans and several other sheetmetal parts. Good quality. Do you think the blocks they show will work on my 47? They are a little different shape than my old ones were. They are for 40-41s

42-47 Wood Cab Mounting Blocks

The guy that owns the place I believe has a 46=47 of his own, so I would guess they are correct.

He has a very good line of parts, and knows his stuff. Personally I don't know the guy but have had friends of mine use his products, and they say he has excellent products.

The '41 used a different set up than the '46. The '46 used small wooden blocks, not long pieces like those shown. Years ago you could find suppliers that had the blocks correct for the '42-'47, but I haven't seen any for a while. The wood is good to still use, just use a good hardwood. The cab mounts on one of my '46's are still super nice, not rotted, even after 60 years.

I tried ordering some from Wescott's catalog several months ago, but they seem to be having trouble getting the guy who mfgs. them to make them. I have orderded several things from them and they were always quick at shipping but not this. The blocks that Im having trouble with is the long ones that go accross the tabs on the outside of the frame in front. A couple of the others have split, I guess I could probably make them myself. Thanks for the replys. I just thought maybe someone else has used something different.

I looked at their site,(Wescott's), could not find the wood block parts. Am I overlooking it, or? Do you have any parts numbers?

Dave,
Go to Wescottsauto and click under catalog and then frames and chassis to the mounting blocks, you will have to go down a little and it will be under Adobe Reader, hopefully you have it on your computer. Part # VWD-1010 or call them at 503-658-3183. They have a catalog that I got at the NSRA in Louisville a couple of years ago. They almost always have a booth at the major hotrod and custom car shows. Probably would be one near where you live this summer.
