conversion from drum brakes to disk brake on 1971 ford 4X4 high boy.
I understand that a 78 or a 79 will convert right over to my 71. Is this so and is there any other years that will also convert over easy. Last but not least does anyone know where I might find one.

Start hittin the wreckin yards, they either have it or can get it, the problem is that they know what that stuff is worth. If you are talking about the whole axle out of a 78 and 79, they will convert, and so will a 76 and 77 I think. A piece of advice, if you do swap axles, go for a Dana 60 or heavy duty 44. They are tough
