Hi,
Looking for some help. I have a 1968 F-250 Camper Special.
The front suspension on the truck seems fairly bouncy, I've already put new springs and gas-adjust shocks. Wondering if I should tear into it and replace all the bushings if that would help.
Also it does not have a sway bar up front and I'm not sure if they came with one or not. There is a bracket on the passenger side that is bolted in place by the bolt that holds the lower spring retainer in place, not sure what this was for.
Bouncy eh! New springs, gas shocks are the ticket. I would also replace the radius arm and I-beam rubber bushings. Then take a look at the rear springs and shocks. You do realize that these old trucks handle like a cow on ice skates! And scare the crap out of you if you get in a corner to hot. This is part of the old truck ambiance! Along with the smell of burnt oil, gasoline and exhaust fumes. A nice wallowing bouncy ride and vague steering are perfect!
