I have a stock 90 F150 2wd. It has the 300ci, E4OD, and 3.55. I currently have this tire size: P235/75R15. I want to go up to 31" tires, but I don't want any other problems to stem out from this change. I want some type of all-terrain tire. Would this be a problem for my gas milage, rear end, trans, etc. Also, would my truck look good with 31" tires?
my buddie has same deal cept 89 2wd 5spd. his is completely stock... we put 31's on his and they feel the wheel wells GREAT dont take much power and hardly effect gas milage... id say go for it!
Not a prob. Your 235/75/15 is really 28.8 so a 31 is the next step up. The 3.55's will handle it well. You might actually get better gas milage. I have always found that when I went up one size. If you want 33's then you might have to regear, depending on how you drive, but in a 2wd you might be ok. 31's will look good on a 2wd. There are also alot of choices in a 31. Have fun.
i also have a 300, 2wd, E4OD, and 3.55 rear and am planning on doing 31's...MAYBE 33's. i don't think it is wise to go over 33's with the setup we have. like bchunter said, may need a regear. let me know what you do and how it turns out...if you like it, you will probably talk me into 31's.

My 2WD F150 has 31's on it with stock suspension and it looks damn good. I have BF Goodrich All Terrains 31x10.50, there's hardly any extra road noise or vibrations and I've beat the hell out of it and never hit the tires on the fenders.
Thanks for the info guys! I'm not going to get new tires for a little while, but I'll let you know how it turns out.
take a before picture and a after one, I want mine higher but I think I will do new shocks and maybe a 2inch lift. i want something I have to kinda step up into. but not quit like my buddys Ranger thats got a 7 inch lift on 33s its too big
i have a BONE stock 2wd 1989 ford f-150 with the 4.9 six, 5 speed with a 3.08 rear end. i had a set of 235/75/r15 tires, and made the jump to 31x10x.50 sidewinders, with ford whitespoke steel wheels, and i noticed VERY little power difference, and i live in the mountains, and like rebel_trucker stated, they fill the fenderwells very nicely,..
I have an 81 ford with a 300 in it with 3.33 gears in it. I put 33 in bfg mud terrains in the back. I did notice a power loss but I actually gained fuel millage because the motor doesn't turn as many rpms for road speed. I like the setup although don't plan on doing any drag racing with it. I still have stock size on the front. I like the stance that it gives the truck. front is low and back is up there. It just looks cool
