Hello again. I know that this question has been beat to death, but............from what I have read there is a plug on the drivers side of a f250 sd v10 with a 4r100 tranny (i think that is the right #s) where i can install a temp probe. I was under the truck and i believe that I found it. Is it just above the oil pan,and about a inche above the shift linkage? Will i need to drain the tranny to install this? and last what size of hole is it? I have read that it is a 1/8 , is that correct..
Thx Casey.
I just got of the phone with tranny shop just asking what they charge to do this. (375$ CDN gotta do more than what i want) but anyway they were saying that the sending unit was to long so they had to go into the pan with my truck. Could this just be because of the kind of temp gauge that they are using? Oh one more, was I correct on the location of the "plug"?
There are different length sensors. The port is not very deep and longer sensors will bottom out before the threads engage. You might be able to swap your sensor for a shorter one.
