Hi guys. I have a 99 F250 SC 4X4 Long Box V10. I have read ALOT of post here that have all been very heplful. My question is does any1 know what gears are in this truck, also what tranny does it have. I read a post that told me to look in the door jam to find this info but to my surprise i have nothing there. If i had a owners manual that would help alot but i dont so i am comming to you guys. Also i will be pulling a 5000# TT plus all the extras for camping, so lets say 6000# ready to go. I dont think that i will be doing the mountains any time soon but i do plan on pulling her for about 2000 miles this summer. Will the factory cooler be enuff or should i get a after market cooler? Any help will be much appreciated.
Well, it's either 3.73 or 4.30. Your stock cooler should be fine. On my 99 I had a temp guage and never saw any high temps. Your tranny is a 4R100.
It likely has a 3.73. A quick check it to check RPM at 60 MPH in drive with converter locked up. If it is around 2450 (give or take) it is a 3.73, if it is a round 2800 RPM it is a 4.30.
THX guys for the help. Did a road trip and it has the 373 gears in her from snomans reply. But snoman you were off it was revin at about 2480.......just kiddin.
