What manual transmissions could be had with the 7.5L in an '89 F-250? I had thought that all of the manuals were 5-speeds by '89, but the ad I'm looking at says 4-speed and many of the auto parts searches offer 4-speed parts... Who's right?
I THINK but I'm not sure that the 4 speed with the granny gear was behind that. But then again, I think the ZF manual 5 speed came out at that time too. Anyone else have an idea?
in the 89 with a 460 you could get either trans..the 4 speed or the ZF 5 speed. i have seen them both ways. and with a C6 or overdrive auto trans also.
yup. i believe it was the e4od that was the od unit. cause you used an electrical connector on the diesel injector pump instead of downshift linkage. so if it was available with the diesel, it should have been available for the 460 also
Thats the only overdrive tranny that would hold up to the 460. The AOD didn't have a chance. I just didn't know it came out in 89. I thought it was in 90 or 91. Good to know that now!
