I just purchased a 1996 F250 with dual tanks. When I switch to the front ( Mid Tank) the motor dies like it is not getting fuel. Truck run fine on rear tank. I don't know if it the fuel pump or not. Any ideas on where to start checking would be appreicated. Does someone have a diagram of the fuel line system for this truck. I purchased a Chilton manual but the information is limited.
it sounds like your fuel pump in the front tank is no good.you might try unpluging the front tank ,at the tank and see if you have power. i think its a red wire.

Chiltons manuals really don't have much in the way of needed info, they are really for people who don't know much about cars and go to a mechanic at the first sign of trouble. There is a permanent post at the top of the forum with some good diagnostic links, specifically for fuel injected vehicles. Good luck on the repairs, and ask away with any other questions you might have.
