my 95 is grey.

wish i could tell you what the other 300s i've worked on were painted, but we only seem to get chevys at the shop, and they are all just rusty color.

All new blocks are painted either red or black, depending on the company that you buy from. They don't paint with factory colors anymore. I think its because most of the people working on these engines don't know the year and the color schemes.

My '76 is blue. My '84 was grey. I think I read somewhere that they changed from grey to blue in '83. Brian

I believe n9lhm is correct. My 82 F100 has the blue paint. My dads 92 and my 95 have the grey. Sounds like 1983 was the year for the change from blue to grey.

Ok,Guy's reason i asked was because i got a boneyard motor out of a 92 150 which i saw the truck 92 that motor came from . I have a 92 150 which i bought new and motor is that grey paint. Also a 351 windsor that's same grey paint. Thinking maybe bone motor was out for somthing and they repainted blue. I will check casting #s Thanks

I've seen a lot of these motors in wrecking yards... Not from motors being blown either...

1982 and older Blue paint.

1983 newer Grey paint.

From my observations....
