How to get the most power out of my 2.3L

i was wondering what the best way was to get more power out of my 1986 2.3L 4banger. what works well but still gets good gas mileage.

How much mileage on it? You may wanna rebuild it. Get a machine shop to open the heads up, new plugs, wires, the works, CAI, turbo if you have the money. Rear axle if you have the money.

Porting the head will probably net the best results, especially if you open up the exhaust ports and bowl area. The heads are the biggest choke points on these motors.
