I was woundering if it is possible to place an OEM rear sway bar on to a 87 ranger xlt 2.9 2wd when there wasn't one there before using parts from the same year or one that coinsides with with my truck. It looks like the mounting holes are there but has anyone done this. also is ther any year that would fit on my truck that gives better sway control. thx for your help and don't mind the OEM's lack of performace i am figuring out a way to beef it up to perform like a champ. thx again

I don't see why it wouldn't work. Are you trying to pick one up from a boneyard donor? My suggestion would be just pick it up and try it. If it works, tell us and you may well start a trend.

yeah i figured replacing the bushing with poly. but i really don't think running up a bill with a performance bar isn't the way(since alot of them are just made of stronger or lighter metal with ploy. bushings. LMC Trucks runs an OEM replacement bar for 169.95 with out the hangers bushing or bolts so i thought i could get all the hardware for under 50 at the junkyard and i a have a few ideals in mind to strenthen it and beaf it up and i sur ethe bushings won't cost much either but all togther i think i can get it all done and in performace shape for roughly less then a 100 but it really depends if i can get a good price on abar and hardware, i will call my local redneck heaven and get back to you and get to pricing togther. either way its better then 200 for an inch of steel
