Question The Hidden Identity

Hello

I'm having a hard time finding information on the Ford/Holley/Motocraft carb I have. On the primary butter flies it has the numbers 112 which I read means its 600 cfm. And in the secondaries it has 209 on the butterflies. On one of the screws holding the electric choke there is a tag stating: D9TE BKA 8H22. What vehicles was this kind of carb used on. What year and make is this carb. What kinda of jet system does it have? Power Valves i'm assuming. Any info greatly appreciated. Also just behind the choke butterfly it states D9TE-9510-DKA
LIST-8346 2348

The D9TE would mean it came off a 1979 truck engine. I think the only 4 barrel truck engine in 79 was the 460.

Go to holley.com and look up info for list#8346. If you can't find anything, e-mail them. They are good about getting info back to you in a couple of days.

I have the same question. My carb on F350 1979 w 460 engine is D9TE-9510-BKA and List 8346. Holley site says nothing about it. Is it a Model 4160?? Does it have Power Valve blowout protect? My engine is running rich. Is there an idle adjust on this??

I worked on this carb today. The floats were both too high so I adjusted gas level in each bowl to being at bottom of sight plug. This could explain the rich mixture.

On adjusting the idle mixture screws I wound up with them at 2 turns out from the stop. There was control authority (vacuum and rpm were affected) and this together with the fact that it has a smooth idle tells me that the Power Valve diaphragms are ok.

Do you guys agree with me on this?? I see no reason to rebuild since no gas is leaking either around the housings.
